How raw is it outside?
OK, small note. Ars Technica has a very nice article outlining some of the issues in correcting global datasets (you know, the corrections that some politicians would have you believe are hoodwinking everybody). It is worth a read, especially if you think that urban heat islands, changing thermometers, and discrepant satellite measurements are the main culprits. Even if you don’t, it is a nice exposition on how scientists have to address all the other problems in a dataset before they can get to the parameter they want to study.
